  • I recently purchased a new grill as an interim grill until I decide what brand to purchase as my "ultimate" grill. The performance was less than satisfactory. In fact, I probably could have done better on the electric stove. I decided to buy Grill Grates for this "piece of junk" grill. Once the Grill Grates were installed, the performance of the grill went from unsatisfactory to OMG. The grill cooked as if it was a Rolls Royce. The dynamics of the grilling changed dramatically. Vegetables cooked to a fabulous tenderness with a minimal char that made everyone know they were grilled. The meats came out perfect with a healthy char, but a moistness that really brought out the flavors. My guests and I could not have been happier...and more impressed. They all swore to buy Grill Grates for their grills. These Grill Grates have proven to be a must-have accessory for any grill. I would think many low end grill manufacturers would do themselves some good if their grills came with a $50 gift certificate for Grill Grate products. I think once customers replaced the cheap steel grates with Grill Grates, they would be pleased with both the grill and the Grill Grates. Well done. P.S. My recent purchase was my third purchase of Grill Grates. And there is another on its way. Thanks for creating such a terrific product and product line.

  • Ordered this brush to try and clean my GrillGrates better that just using the wire brush offered here. The brush worked much better than I had expected. +++++++++++++++++ Brad This is my favorite brush too- I use it as a broom to sweep debris to the back of my grills. The Scraper tool knocks off the debris and this brush really sweeps the grates clean. #grillon

  • I bought a set two years ago when I bought my RT700. As soon as the RT Bullseye is in stock I intend to buy a set of GrillGrates for it, too. I quite happy with these. After the initial seasoning session, I got great grill marks and a no-stick cooking surface. Well done. ++++++++++++++++++ Brad here- I've been running the Bullseye a lot the last 2 weeks- I was lucky to get one. Holy Cow- it's a 2 seater sports car- fast, fun to drive and one hell of a cooker!

  • I was really excited to get these for my Rec Tec 700. As soon they arrived I threw them on the grill and have was completely disappointed in their performance. I thought ok well its a new grill and new grates it will take a few cooks to get things dialed in. 6 cooks later I am still unimpressed. I had better results searing, or a much as you can sear on a pellet grill, on the standard grill grates.Maybe this product work well on other grills but, from my experience, not of the Rec Tec 700. ++++++++++++++++++ That surprises us GW! I will try have our customer service team reach out to you- we have thousands of happy RecTec Customers. Couple things to point out- place the GrillGrates on the stack side and run it full high. Heat will be trapped and get you max temps. You should see 550-600F and deep dark sear marks. Also know we have a 90 day no questions asked return policy.

  • These things work really well with my GMG pellet smoker. They work as advertised. Only thing I would say is when reverse searing, be careful once you get your meat on the grates...almost had some well done steaks because they do get extremely hot and cook the meat much faster than you are probably used to.

  • I bought them to replace the rusty grates. Easy to season and clean. They do a great job of searing and cooking.

  • Grate is great for searing steaks and chickens. Make wonderful grill cheese when turned upside down.

  • It’s a great product but so far hard to furan after use. You only receive a small number of wipes for the grill I’m working on a process to clean the grate for my ninja grill. However, I’m not sure how that would work for the grill grate for my KJXL and that is why I haven’t purchased it yet.

  • Enjoying this very much. Beautiful searing marks with it and it keeps the q3200 cleaner. I have used it upside down as well for smash burgers and veggies. It is not a replacement grate it’s a little smaller and sits on top of the original grate. My only problem now is I decided the Q3200 was to small and added a new bigger Weber Genesis II as my main grill. I have put the GrillGrate on top of the original grates on that but want the bigger sized for it now. ++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here Jim- GIft those old Grates to a friend, neighbor child and get yourself the set for that new Genesis!

  • I bought this grate after watching a YouTuber review it. He seemed to like it a lot. I had high hopes but stopped using it because the edges are SO sharp and it just barely fit inside the grill— so what happens every time I put it in or take it out is that it scratches the ceramic finish off the corners of the pan. No matter how careful I am I Just can’t put it in or take it out without damaging the finish on the pan. It’s just not worth it. If you had rounded the corners or made it just a little smaller it would have worked better. But as it is, it’s now sitting I’m my cabinet and probably won’t be used again. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here Lee- surprised to hear this we have the Foodi Grill here at the office and use it often and have not experienced your issue. Remember we have a 90 day no questions asked return policy!

  • Needed to replace my enamel coated cast iron grates because the enamel had come off. The only complaint I have is inherent in the design and was fully disclosed in the instructions. You can't put anything on top of the grill grates (pans, skillets, etc) without risking a heat build up hot enough to warp the grates. Solution, even though I don't trust my old grates to cook directly on them, I lubed them up with canola to ward off rust and left them on the grill under the grill grates. That way if I want to do beer braised brats on the grill, I can just take off a few of the grill grate panels and put my disposable braising pan directly on the original cast iron. Problem solved. I expect that these grates will last thru a lifetime of use.

  • I have the original KJ Classic. The Grillgrate is an excellent fit, and heat distribution with all 3 sections in place. It is possible to remove middle section and drop the outside 2 sections to the lower level of grill for high heat searing.

    Ouzel • 06/03/2020

  • Replaced my cast iron grates with these. Steak, burgers and skewered shrimp come out great. Look forward to trying many more different foods to grill on them.

  • This setup does not cover the grill surface of your woodwind. You are better off measuring your surface area and ordering accordingly. I ended up ordering this without having the grill yet. When I finally had both of the products together, the 3 18.5" basically cover the area of the drip tray. I ended up ordering another 18.5" and a gap to cover the whole surface. I found, but haven't proven, you can fit the 19.25" x 4 and a gap piece and that would cover the existing grill surface. +++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here from GG- For most pellet grills we suggest 3 panel sear stations that don't cover the entire grill. You can as you suggest add more and often you will see the Pellet Grill run hotter as a result. Some try to not go beyond the drip tray to avoid grease from getting to the bottom of the grill. I personally never had an issue with that.

  • I recently bought my husband a pellet grill to save room on the patio. We’ve cooked steaks and burgers, and while they were good, we both missed the sear. I did a google search on searing on a pellet grill and came across this site. I ordered the searing station, and I could not be happier. The shipping was fast, arriving in 3 days from the order date. It arrived yesterday, and we used it for burgers last night. That seared grill flavor that we both missed is back. The burgers were delicious. I can’t wait to try it with steaks.

  • I purchased this item to go with my Kamado Joe Classic grill to help produce some awesome food coming off of the grill.

  • These put beautiful grill marks on my meats. Love them!!

  • I love it, but the bristles are not resilient at high temps. I normally burn off the residue on the grill at top heat, leave the grill to cool for a little while then brush off. In this manner I have only been able to make the brush head last for about 1 year (we cook almost year round). The problem is that with tax and shipping it gets really expensive - almost $50 for a grill brush. I am getting ready to order my 3rd brush in 3 years (brush, brush head, brush again). ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here- Heat control is the key. I use this brush more than the valley brush- I use it daily. During warm up. Once full hot- you can brush do so in quick strokes not slowly. Watching heat should make the brush last more than 1 year. Your feedback is helpful and we'll try to include that in our product info better going forward too.
