  • They just work great - allows the grill to get much hotter for the sear!

  • Expectations were to increase temperature on grates for searing and “hotter” cooks. Temperatures on grill grates were only equal to the temperature of my Traeger grates. Grate temperatures were measured with laser heat gun. ++++++++++++++++++ Brad here- couple things. 1 make sure you are centered in our Ironwood and give it all she's got to warm up max temps. Laser readings are not very accurate on new GrillGrates the beam can bounce and refract from the shiny metal. Once seasoned the measurement is much more accurate. Best way to judge is how does your steak look? Deep brown sear marks are 450-500F, Dark brown 550+. You should absolutely see and hear the sear and sizzle. Will PM you same message.

  • The 18.5 fit a charbroil grill perfect

  • I've had my grillgrates for almost a year and they're awesome. Not much more needs to be said about their performance. If you've done your research you'll know that these are fantastic for uniform heat and creating perfect grill marks. BUT when I use them with my Weber Genesis II (for which my set is designed) the lid won't fully close once they're hot. At low temps they fit perfectly, but after about 500 degrees the cook box lid starts scraping against the grates and won't fully close. It nearly closes, but not completely. This happens every time I cook steaks and need the grill piping hot. It makes cooking times unreliable, especially on cold days when the outside air creeps under the lid. I live in Canada and grill year round, so this is a particular problem for me that I didn't struggle with using traditional grates. If these grates were designed to flatten at the ends it would eliminate the problem. All in all the product is great and deserves your money. Just be aware that the grates expand at high temps and may prevent your grill from fully closing due to their design. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ David- very surprised to hear this we've sold possibly a thousand or more sets. I am wondering if our size may be a bit long and we missed that? Also one thing to double check to is the shelf area in the back will get build up and that will start to nose the GG forward a bit? OR the grill is slightly off spec. I am private messaging you as well but want folks to see my reply. Brad

  • A whole new way to grill steaks and burgers. Loved it so much I bought my son a set.

  • I’ve recently purchased the Asmoke AS300 Grill and I wanted to replace the original grates. GrillGrates are 100X better. Everything described about this product is on point. One of the pluses is you can buy the gap panels to get the best fit to your grill.

  • I’m one of those people who like to really use a product before I review it. I purchase this grill grate and did all of the steps the directions called for. It’s NEVER been in the dishwasher. After I’ve used a volume of times. It is a completely different color and ANYTHING I cook on it sticks like crazy. It is more of a haste to use than it’s worth. If I could send it back I would and I REALLY wanted to love this grill grates as I have a full set for my KJ. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here- 2 thoughts 1- did you use olive oil on the rails? Olive oil gets sticky above 400 We discourgage people from using Olive oil or too much oil for that matter. It will discolor kind of a gold patina. We've used ours dozens of times- no sticking but we don't oil the grate. SECOND- you have a no questions asked money back guarantee. I'll have our office reach out to you.

  • Ordered for my 36" blackstone. Was expecting it to fit the full grill front to back but it doesnt. Leaves a gap front and back but that's ok. Works good with amazing heat transfer. +++++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here: Good point and to answer the length issue we decided not to go exact as there are so many Blackstones some with Lips, some not AND we find that many are using them sideways to find the flattest spot on their Blackstone. Some Blackstones have quite the high spot in the middle.

  • With flare ups and inconsistent temperatures across the cooking surface, I had all but given up on my gas grill. But the time to get my charcoal grill going made outdoor cooking a chore. My GrillGrates have changed that. I get consistent heat across the cooking surface an no more flare-ups. They also make fabulous sear lines. Now I get the convenience of the propane grill with something closer to the results of my charcoal. One note: These really do expand quite a bit when hot. I think GG says 1/8", but you should consider allowing more than that. Especially if you have longer grates as thermal expansion will be larger for longer grates. Luckily I have enough room, but just be aware that you need to leave considerable room for expansion. +++++++++++++++++++++++ Good point on expansion Ted- we'll add that to our longer lengths

  • Grill Grates will 100% transform not only your grilling experience, but your end grilled product as well. The way that these even the heat out across the grilling surface as well as create a hotter surface without flare ups is amazing. I liked them so much that when I bought my new Weber gas grill I immediately purchased a set for it and have never even used the stock cast iron grates. I strongly recommend buying Grill Grates for every gas or charcoal grill you own. The better the fit, the better the performance.

  • You will get nice sear marks at 400 degrees at the dome of your grill with this product. You do not need and expensive green egg at high temperatures to get a nice sear. High temps dry out your meat and the meat does not get any smoke on a quick high heat cook. A must for grilling steaks, great for burgers and chicken too.

  • After 10 months of use, I have been very pleased with the set of GrillGrates for our covered patio apartment outdoor electric grill that I got free on craigslist. I fitted the GrillGrates to a Sears Kenmore # 141.15283 Dual Purpose stainless steel electric grill, also similar to a Perfect Flame # LE1808CA. The factory porcelain coated cast iron replacement grill is $73 13.25x17 and for me the GrillGrates was a better way to go after researching. The meat has better flavor with the sear marks, tasty meat juices and the drippings in the channels vaporizing for unbelievable flavor. They also help holding the heat in the chamber along using white briquettes. I also have sets ready for the family Christmas gifts. ++++++++++++++++++ Brad here Douglas- you are onto a big trend that we see- electric grills that get HOT! Most electrics don't get hot enough and GrillGrates can really make the difference (and keep the lid closed as much as possible for heat retention) You also hit the mark on drippings- that sizzle is the true secret to grilled flavor and usually not possible on Electric Grills. I just go the Weber Electric here at GG HQ and we're really impressed with the temps we're seeing... 600F + Thanks for being a grrrrrate customer!

  • I bought my GrillGrates a few months ago, its been a learning curve to get my steaks the way I like (med rare) they get super hot and and over cook. Now I got my timing down right and my steaks come out excellent. I highly recommend GrillGrates for sear marks on Steaks, Chicken, and Pork Chops.

  • I am very happy that I bought this to use with my grill grates on my Weber grill. My only complaint is the tool requires quite a bit of grip strength to use. If it closed a bit more easily it would make it better for people like me who have limited grip strength. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ We're looking into that AJ. We had it happen on a shipment of Tongs a year or so ago. We did find you can squeeze at the top where the bend is and they will not open as wide. We will inspect our inventory and address. I use the combo tong a lot and need to pay attention!

  • I liked using my rectangles GRILLGRATE outdoors and have added this 11" round GRILLGRATE in an electric toaster oven. I like having a crisper crust for pizza and enjoy grill cheese sandwiches. This size should fit most toaster ovens that I have seen and have sent these for gifts as well. Pizza removal is easy with the GrateTool. ++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here. Hi Doug we're learning right along with you. The GG with no holes is finding its way into a lot of pizza ovens rails up or rails down. One customer said he'll never use a pizza stone again! As an aside- check out Urban Slicer just add water pizza dough- it truly is remarkable!

  • Bought the grates for my pellet smoker. They have worked exceptionally well and are easy to clean.

  • High quality, nice and heavy, interlock perfectly. Grate Tool is awesome! Gives great grill lines. Excited to flip them over for some burgers soon.

    Kristopher Mowrer • 11/05/2020

  • Bought these to help finish sear steaks on my pellet grill. After seeing them talked about on various forums I bought them. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Excellent product.

    Michael S Whitehead • 11/05/2020

  • The tongs are meant for big hands, and that is the only possible negative. They slide right into the grates, and are solid enough to offer a solid grip of whatever you are cooking.

    Jeff Blanchard • 11/04/2020

  • The grill is much hotter than before and it puts awesome sear marks on what you are cooking. You can also flip it over to use the flat surface.
