  • it does not fit very well ++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here from GG. The Grates are meant to only cover a portion of your Blackstone. One tip is to use them on the hottest part of your Blackstone for highest sear.

  • The GrillGrates take your ordinary food over the top with improved flavor and appearance! No more flare ups when cooking chicken, sausages or burgers.

  • I replaced my old GrillGrates with new GrillGrates that I cut to fit for my Traeger Ranger. With these, I do not need to use the Traeger grate to rest them on. Also, more heat is applied directly to the GrillGrates. Two Grillgrates 16.25 inch cut to fit One Gap Panel 16.25 inch cut to fit This is a perfect setup for the Traeger Ranger. Excellent product ++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here- we will look at our recommendation and maybe able to change out to this configuration. #grillon

  • I was a little hesitant to spend the money for grates on a grill. I couldn't be happier they have improved the quality of my grilling immensely. Love them!

  • I have GrillGrates for my Weber gas grill and my Yoder pellet grill, Without question they one of the best grill accessories in have. As for the GrillGrates for my large Big Green Egg they leave a lot to be desired. 1. They set on top of and in the center of the original grill grate. When trying to slide a spatula under anything on the GrillGrates the grates slide apart. The only thing you can do to flip a burger is to use something on the back of the GrilGrates to keep them from sliding apart. The same issue with the included grate tool spatula. Anything even slightly stuck to the GrillGrate is a problem to flip. 2. Because of the shape and size of the GrillGrate you lose a substantial area of the cooking surface, both in front, back and on each side of the GrillGrates. For me this is unacceptable. I would like the see a one-piece full circle GrillGrate for round type grills, especially for the kamado type grills. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here Gerald- the EGG and large Kamado set is purposely a bit undersized. We tested full coverage and found they ran way to hot trapping most heat below the GG. Once you use them a bit they will not be sliding around much. We've sold thousands of sets. We do make a 1/2 Moon for Eggs now too a bit more coverage and one piece less to slide. We find our Kamado customers love how GG give them ability to be very aggressive when grilling hot and fast. You have 90 days to return them too if you still don't find them viable for you.

  • I bought this because I thought it would be good to be able to get under hamburgers and other meats with the fork and flip with the spatula. It does work for doing that but my hands are small and the tongs are so stiff, it will have to be a two-handed operation for me. I would recommend this for someone with larger and stronger hands. ++++++++++++++++++++++ HI Tonia, Yes these tongs can be a bit stiff. I have a suggestion- give them to a strong guy ask him to SQUEEZE the bend in further. That will tighten up the distance between the tines and make it easier hold and squeeze.

  • This little gem is a must-have in the kitchen. I use it on everything, baking sheets, glass bakeware, pots. It won't scratch cooking surfaces so it's great to keep right next to the sink with your sponge.

  • I'll have to admit, It took quite a while for me to actually order grill grates wondering if the cost to cooking improvement was worth it. At the insistence of a friend who does competition cooking as to the worth of Grill Grates, I finally bit the bullet and ordered the grates. I cannot tell you how many times my finger hovered over the mouse button to complete my order only to abort and wait till another day. Once I got the grates in, I was hesitant at first about using them out of fear I'd screw them all up. After about a month, I finally broke down and seasoned the grates according to directions. I cooked my first steaks that day and the results were absolutely phenomenal. I regret having waited so long to order and use the grates. The first thing I did was text my friend and tell him how great the grates were. His answer was "I told you so, knucklehead!". I have since cooked chicken on the grates and I was blown away by how well they cooked and how juicy it was. Anyone who grills chicken breast knows full well how easy it is to dry out, the breast I have cooked on the grates always come off super juicy. I actually look forward to cooking on the grates now. I just wanted to thank you all for making a very sturdy well built product and YES, the cost to cooking improvement is well worth it. Your advertisements state how much juicier the food will be and it is definitely true. By the way, the char lines are fantastic.

  • I bought this to add to my Flat Top Griddle. They fit perfectly, yes they have a little gap on the and bottom but that is fine. The problem that I had was the heat transfer from the Griddle surface to the Grill Grates. The Griddle Top was at 650, but the Grill Grates were only ever able to hit 425. So for the Griddle it was a bust, however I took the Grill Grates over to my Woodwind Grill and removed the heat shield. On the Woodwind I was able to get the Grill Grates up to 600 and they worked well. Clean up is just the problem without the holes in the grates. +++++++++++++++++++++ HI Steve- Surprised you only saw 425F on your Blackstone. We've seen a lot of success with them. We do point out not to cold start them- meaning place GG and then get the flattop hot. It won't get to max temps as the GG are exhausting heat faster than the Blackstone can get hot. One other thing to note is that there are hotspots on your Blackstone- use the GrillGrates on the hot spot. Glad you like them on the Woodwind. Our valley brush will take care of that build-up. We appreciate your feedback. I will email you this to make sure you see it. Brad

  • I normally do not write reviews so that should tell you something from the start. I bought these to replace the grates in a brand new grill. Best grilling move I've ever made. I keep part of my grill smooth side up and the rest as a standard grill. The concept behind these things make perfect sense. They get hot really fast and adjust to reduced heat just as fast. That means less time warming up and making adjustments if the grill gets too hot. They sear better than my searing station which really locks in the juices. I seasoned mine and haven't had a thing even close to sticking. There is very little clean up.. Because... the meat is seared from the start and nothing sticks. Very little ends up in or on the grill. The aluminum radiates heat better than my inferred grill I just replaced. That means cooking times are reduced. All that adds up to perfect grilling every time, with less prep, less clean up, less time on the grill which adds up to more gas efficiency. As a bonus, I have blackened striped bass rght on the smooth side several times. It's better than cast iron and no mess. +++++++++++++++++++ Duayne- we never get tired of hearing this! • These grates are excellent. It’s been a game changer for me with chicken that is juicy, nicely crisp and browned, but not burned. Perfect steak is easy, same for lamb chops. I tend to use 3 panels with ridges up, and 2 flipped over to flat side. Flat side is perfect for vegetables, asparagus has been so nice. I also use the flat side to finish off a steak to get some extra browning, one minute each side. There is a small learning curve as the grates work differently from traditional grates. I would also recommend using an instant read meat thermometer and know the internal temp you are aiming for, which is so easy to achieve without flare ups. I am telling my son and daughter to get these for their grills. +++++++++++++++++++ You are dialed in Robert! GrillGrate, Eat Well!

  • The grates worked as expected - AWESOME! I have them on EVERY grill I own. Can't imagine not using them.

  • Scraper or whatever it’s called carved grill down to bare metal and now causes metal chips. ++++++++++++++++++++ Brad here. You do need to run the scraper smoothly and slowly down the raised rails- like a paint scraper. It really works. If you nick the AL it will be fine and will actually heal very quickly.

  • Superb product seasoned per directions and came out beautifully. Only used it once so far but did exactly what it was designed to do.

  • Works very well in my ninja foodi xl grill. I like it better than the grill that came with ninja grill. Worth paying the price for it.

  • My new grill has a surface measuring 18.5" by 34" wide. I used 7 of the 18.5" GrillGrates. I custom cut one of them to achieve a perfect 34" width. I used a non-ferrous metal blade on a circular saw. It cut like butter. No problems. I use the GrillGrates flat side up. I love them. Thanks.

  • I bought a home in Louisiana a year ago. It had a built in Napoleon grill on the patio. It had been neglected as far as upkeep. I had to replace it with a new grill. The new grill didn’t fit in the cabinet the old grill was removed from. I hired a carpenter to make the new grill fit. I spent about $2000 on the modification. After cooking on the new Napoleon I was very disappointed with the taste of the steaks that I was cooking.. My son who lives in Memphis told me about GrillGrates. I can’t believe the difference the new grates made! Thanks GrillGrates!!
