Juicy and delicious, pears are a popular fruit during the summer months. Grilling them on GrillGrates adds a layer of complexity to their flavor that is enhanced with a good Gorgonzola cheese.
Ingredients
Servings
1
Pears
Canola oil spray
1.5
oz
Gorgonzola Cheese crumbled
0.5
tbsp
softened butter
Honey (we used a spicy habanero honey)
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your grill to 600-700F at the GrillGrate surface.
Step 2
Slice the pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds with a spoon to create a small “cup” to hold the Gorgonzola cheese.
Step 3
Combine the Gorgonzola crumbles with the softened butter in a small bowl
Step 4
Lightly spray the pears with canola oil on the flesh side.
Step 5
Place the pears face down on the GrillGrates to sear them. After two minutes twist them 45 degrees to achieve the coveted crosshatch pattern.
Step 6
After two more minutes remove the pears from the grill. Reduce the heat to low or 400F
Step 7
Fill each pear with approx. 2 tablespoons of Gorgonzola mixture.
Step 8
Place pears back on the grill and close lid. Cook three minutes and remove from grill to serving dish.
