Inspired by lazy days hanging out at the park with a group of friends. Shrimp and sausage skewers are super easy to prepare ahead of time and will add a gourmet flair to the everyday cookout.

Medium Sized Shrimp, Peeled and Deveined

Smoked Beef Sausage
Your favorite BBQ rub
Your favorite BBQ sauce

Wooden Skewers
Vegetable Oil Spray
Directions
Step 1
Soak wooden skewers in water as early as you can so they do not burn while on the grill (overnight is fine)
Step 2
Cut smoked sausage into 32 equal sized pieces
Step 3
Assemble skewers by alternating four pieces of sausage with four pieces of shrimp
Step 4
Spray with vegetable oil and season with BBQ rub
Grilling Instructions
Step 5
Preheat grill to medium high (600F)
Step 6
Place skewers on grill and allow to cook for 5 minutes
Step 7
Flip skewers over and brush lightly with BBQ sauce
Step 8
Cook 3-4 more minutes and flip the skewers once more
Step 9
Brush lightly with BBQ sauce and cook another minute or so allowing the sauce to set on the skewers

We did this with G Hughes BBQ Sauce. I like it because it is not too overwhelming tomato sauce and for me secondarily it is sugar free.

This is a great dish! It is fast to prepare and just as fast to smoke on my Traeger with the fantastic GrillGrates. Not only will we make this again, but did in the first week to perfect the short cook time needed for the shrimp.
